Also hier mal meine Notizen.
PC = Police Constable
GBP = Dr. George B. Phillips
VictimsMary "Polly" Nichols
-----------------------
2am
Polly has been seen by her companion Ellen Holland. Polly tells her that she has earned double doss money, but drank it away in the Frying Pan. She has been seen there. Furthermore, Polly tells her that she will go to the Flower&Dean. A jack knife is found there.
3:15
PC Neil notices nothing unusual. GBP claims that he appeared no later than 3:15.
3:45
PC Neil discovers the body. [The paper says 3:40] He says that GBP arrived shortly afterwards. [But GBP claimed he came around 3:15, even before the murder?]
George Cross sees the body and calls for PC Mizen's help at Hanbury.
4am
Somebody "with a tall black hat" tells Mulshaw that somebody is[not was?] murdered.
4:15
Reporter Oswald Allen arrives. GBP is already at the scene.
6:30
Inspector Abberline arrives. He says that GBP was the first at the scene.
Annie Chapman
------------------
12:10 am
Stevens says that he saw Annie in the communal kitchen of the Crossinghams Lodging House. She put some pills inside an envelope [which is found on the scene].
4:45
John Richardson notices that the door to the cellar has been opened. He hasn't seen anyone.
5:30
Albert Cadosh leaves the Hanbury for work. He hears someone crying, "No!", followed by something falling to the floor, but he ignores the incident.
5:45
John Davis finds Annie's body [Paper says 6am]. He stumbles upon a fishing fly.
6:02
Chandler is called to the scene by a mob of men. 2 minutes later he calls for GBP who arrives only 3 minutes later. Chandler would later remark that it takes at least 15 minutes from the mortuary to Hanbury.
In the front of the Hanbury a fishing fly and a hanky with initials "JM" are found.
Elizabeth Stride
------------------
11:45 pm (Sep 29)
Elizabeth enters Packer's shop with a man (most of the witnesses refer to him as stoutly, 5'7", Van Dyke beard, long black cloak). He buys grapes [later found in victim's hand]. Willliam Marshall has seen them a while before.
12:30
PC Smith has seen Elizabeth standing in Berner Street with a flower in her jacket. A man with a beard standing beside her.
12:45 am (Sep 30)
[Name???] observes how Elizabeth tells the man with the beard, "Not today.".
12:30 - 1am
Mrs Mortimer has seen nobody except a man with a black bag [I believe this is a different person].
1am
The corpse is discovered by Louis Diemschutz from the International Workingmen Club.
A link cuff with initials "GBP", a chess piece, a bottle and cachous are found on scene.
Catherine Eddowes
----------------------
9:45 pm (Sep 29)
Catherine is arrested by PC Hutt for drunkenness.
1 am
She is released. She gives "Mary Ann Kelly, 6 Fashion Street" as her address.
1:30
Her corpse is discovered by PC Watkins.
1:34
Joseph Lawende has seen her with a man on her side who carried a Gladstone bag [how is that possible if Watkins already found her body?].
1:45
Catherine's body is officially found by PC Harvey [when exactly has the corpse been found? Is Watkins lying? or Harvey?].
A mustard tin is found on scene. A die and another bottle is found at Mitre Square North.
Mary Kelly
------------
Timothy Donovan has seen Mary on her way to Miller's Court with a man on her side who was wearing a tall top hat.
1 am
Elizabeth Prater takes a look outside Miller's Court. She waits for half an hour, but has seen nothing unusual.
2:30
Sarah Lewis arrives and notices a man with a bag.
4:00
Elizabeth Prater hears somebody screaming, "Murder!", but ignores it.
10:45
Bowyer goes to collect Mary Kelly's rent and finds her corpse.
A pocket watch with initials "GBP", a Masonic pin, a golden scissor, another bottle and embers are found on scene.
The suspectsAaron Kosminski
He seems a bit wierd, but he has not the skills to commit the murders.
GBP: I think he is not the killer, but he is definitely involved with the victims.
He claims to be at the scene of Polly Nichol's murder earlier than she was actually found. He has been to the Hanbury before Annie has been found. Davis stepped on a fishing fly. GBP remarks that he wanted to go fishing. And the fishing fly is prepared with post mortem skills. He must have dropped it [but why did he carry it?].He claims that he arrived at 10:26 at Hanbury for the first time. This must be a lie, because Chandler tells the detective that he called him shortly after 6am and he arrived only minutes thereafter. And the fishing fly is proof that he was at Hanbury's early in the morning. Did he open the cellar door? Did he kill Annie? I don't think so.
When his office in the mortuary is searched, a Van Dyke beard, a Gladstone bag and a dirty hypodermic needle among other things are found. The man with the beard in company of Elizabeth...is it GBP? Could be. Or is he the man with the bag? He could be, but I guess every doctor has such a bag or a similar one. And the hypodermic needle? No proof whatsoever. Elizabeth has puncture wounds supposedly from a needle. It's still no proof. The cuff link with his initials in the Berner Street? He examined the corpse, he could have lost it. Or he could have left it when he disguised himself with the beard.
And Mary Kelly...why is a pocket watch with initials "GBP" found at her place? Why is it broken at 6:02? Maybe he left it when he visited her. Perhaps he lost it when he examined it. But why is it broken? Why 6:02? Could that be connected to Annie's murder?
His motive: Maybe he is mad. He is paid by every corpse he examines.
Oswald Allen:
Motive: Stories to write about. Not very likely.
Dr. Thomas Bond:
He is permanently busy at the mortuary. I don't believe he is involved in this.
Edward Sterling:
No. He was fond of Annie Chapman, but he wouldn't kill her. And nobody else.
Severin Klosowski (aka George Chapman):
Is he related to Annie Chapman? I never found out. He is a Junior surgeon, now working as hairdresser. He has the skills. He seems strange enough. But there is no proof.
James Maybrick:
Violent womanizer. He was at Hanbury's. He left his hanky there. But nothing else can be proved.
John Pizer:
He seems the obvious choice. He looks dangerous, seems rather mad at women and he always carries a sharp knife. He works with leather. Leather aprons are constantly found on the crime scenes. JTR writes in his letter that the joke about Leather Apron gave him the fits. It seems that he wants the public to think that Pizen is the killer. But there's one crucial proof against this: JTR's letter is written with an educated hand, Pizen isn't exactly an educated person. And JTR leaves a message on a wall, seemingly anti-semitic [could be the exact opposite as I don't understand the intent of the message]. Pizen is a Jew. I don't think he is JTR. Although he certainly has some skills due to his job with leather.
Michael Ostrog:
Little is known about him. He is a strange man, experimenting with the bodies of the deceased. He has the skills and the knowledge. He carries a bag. Nothing else can be proved.
James Kenneth Stephen:
He studied medicine when he suffered a struck against his head and turned mad. He could have done it. He might have the skills left. But it's not very likely.
John Barnett:
He is not educated and he has no skills at all.
Alaska:
He threatens that he will mutilate every prostitute until he gets his stolen money back. He seems like a dangerous person with a motive. But the skills? Is he really that dangerous? I don't think so.
Prince Eddy:
A false brown beard is found at his chamber. But the bearded man had a Van Dyke and although Eddy has already a moustache, there is still the goatee left to appear with a Van Dyke beard. He loves to disguise himself and commit debauchery. Theres is hard evidence [bible in the church] that he has a daughter together with Annie Crook [she should be in the game, too, but I never met her]. I don't think he could be JTR.
Netley:
No.
Sir William Gull:
He is a doctor. He has the skills and the knowledge. He is a freemason. He doesn't want to answer questions and has no alibi. He watches Prince Eddy having adventures with all the prostitutes in town. Maybe he is jealous. Perhaps he developed a feeling of hate against the sort of relationship that Prince Eddy is practicing. He could very likely be Jack the Ripper.
My final deductions (so far)[/i]:
Polly Nichols was killed with a jack knife in F&D Street. Then she has been carried to Buck's Row. Nobody has seen it. There were fires on the docks which might have attracted people to be somewhere else and the streets were empty in the late hours except the PCs guarding them.
Annie Chapman was killed by JTR with another one of the weapons which has been found on the streets I guess. After killing her he climbed the fence in the backyard and wasn't seen. On the same night Annie met with Maybrick, a customer of hers. Perhaps GBP was a customer, too. His role isn't clear.
JTR writes the first letter with red ink, but he mentions that he intended to use the "proper stuff" [blood] which he kept in a "ginger bottle", but it turned "like glue".
Elizabeth Stride met a man with a Van Dyke beard. This man must be GBP. The beard is found in his office. [Sure, he can be JTR. I mean he could remove the beard, fetch his bag and kill her. But the man with the bag was seen when he and Elizabeth were still walking around. But maybe I'm trusting the witness too much here.]
JTR stalked them, killed Elizabeth Stride shortly after GBP has left and hurried to Mitre Square to kill Catherine Eddowes who knew him. She knew that he was the killer [she claims that before she is killed, perhaps he killed Annie with the buttonhook and placed it at Catherine's place in 6 Fashion Street, maybe she knew all that]. He knew that she will be released from prison by this time and decided to take the opportunity to kill her and keep her silent. He had enough time to cut out her kidneys.
He cut away one part of the apron and ran to Goulston Street. There he wrote the message on the wall and placed the part of the apron underneath it.
Later he sent a postcard and a box with one of Catherine's kidneys inside to the police station.
The Ripper accompanied Mary Kelly to her place. Donovan had seen them [a man with a tall top hat]. JTR killed Mary Kelly in her room at Miller's Court #13 and gruesomely mutilated her. He lost his Masonic pin in the process. JTR left Mary Kelly's room after his work was done and trampled on the watch [at 6:02]lying in outside in front of the window [supposing that GBP was a customer of Mary Kelly and lost his watch there].
Sir William Gull is Jack the Ripper.
A much easier explanation for all the objects with GBP's inititals on it would be that GBP is Jack the Ripper. He had enough time to change the beard and get his bag with the needle inside. But he isn't a freemason. At least I don't think so.
