ich habe in einem englischen second hand buchladen, die beiden schinken "the great cases of scotland yard" vol. 1 & 2, für nur 1€ pro stück erstanden.
das kapitel thomas neill cream enthält einen "ripper-brief", der bei seiner gerichtsverhandlung laut vorgelesen wurde. den brief und die beiden cream portraits, möchte ich euch nicht vorenthalten.

"dear sir, - the man that you have in your power, dr. neill, is as innocent as you are. knowing him by sight, i disguised myself like him, and made the acquaintance of the girls that have been poisoned. i gave them the pills to cure them of all their earthly miseries, and they died. miss l. harris, has got more sense than i thought she had, but i shall have her yet... if i were you, i would release dr. t. neill, or you might get into trouble. his innocence will be declared sooner or later, and when he is free he might sue you for damages. -

Ist es nicht denkbar, dass Cream den Brief selber geschrieben hat? Nachdem was ich weiß hat er ja des öfteren durch Briefe versucht falsche Fährten zu legen.
